The HEALING HOUSES Initiative

The Goal: To Purchase a 10+ acre property and build a minimum of 10 one bedroom self sustaining cabins for people when they are released and have to serve their sentence in the community. . Each cabin will sit on a parcel of land where the person will be responsible for their own land during their stay. Our dream is to have a community garden, a medicine house, a place a worship and sweat lodge so we can align and support inclusive spirituality.

The focus for integration back into society will be on healing from the journey our individuals experienced prior to Incarceration. , the lived experiences while in Prison and life assimilating back into our communities. The foundation of our work is built on healing from the inside out through the foundation of Christ and the Gospel while utilizing natural healing tools such as plant medicine, fire talks, talk therapy, meditation, nature, breath work, fitness, and God led community. We will say it one thousand times, we are about relationship not religion.

When prisoners are released back into society and community, they are often sent to transitional housing or a transitional living facility to reintegrate into society after undergoing a significant life event or challenge. These homes serve as vital sanctuaries for individuals navigating the delicate transition from rehabilitation centers or incarceration back into society.

This is a purpose led vision and the hope is to purchase land on Treaty 7 land in Alberta. To serve prisoners post release to set them up for success is a pertinent piece of the puzzle.
